Position Overview - JV Assistant Basketball Coach
Season: October - February
Pay: Stipend offered commensurate with experience and length of season
The JV Basketball Coach focuses on skill development, game understanding, and preparing student-athletes for varsity-level competition. The assistant coach is responsible for being present at practices, working as a team with the head coach, and teaching fundamentals. Emphasis is placed on both athletic development and character formation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop athletes holistically (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual).
- Create structured, engaging, and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Promote a positive and encouraging team culture.
- Model integrity, humility, and respect.
- Communicate with parents about game schedule, practices, and logistics.
- Dispense and collect team uniforms.
- Ensure arrival and dismissal protocols are followed.
